Planetary Transits

Current positions and the natal chart

A transit is a planetary position at a later or selected moment. Natal longitudes remain the recorded positions of the birth chart. Keeping those two sets distinct is essential when discussing an event window.

KP transit approaches consider signs, stars and subs in relation to selected significators and active periods. Transits are a further timing layer within the tradition, following the event's cuspal and period interpretation.

Broad and narrow indicators

Some approaches examine slower planets for broad intervals and the Sun and Moon for narrower ones. The Sun's movement through signs and stars and the Moon's faster movement can identify candidate intervals. These approaches vary; Jupiter, Sun and Moon should not be described as universal guarantees of an exact year, month and day.

Conditions and competing dates

A reproducible comparison specifies the eligible period, required transit conditions and all candidate dates satisfying them. If several dates qualify, the result remains a range unless another stated condition distinguishes one date.

Adding conditions after the known event can make a retrospective example look precise. The original conditions and candidate dates should remain available for comparison. Transit symbolism is not a substitute for a complete event definition or a measured probability of occurrence.
